WB_Bahnhofstrasse
The Bahnhof-Stadtstraße is to become an urban meeting zone and lifeline of a modern small town. A place of arrival/ meeting place for hustle and bustle and cozy time next to each other is to be created. The character of a suburban street, where consumption alone dominates, must give way to a more elegant, contemporary cityscape of an open, lively small town.
A spacious area as a platform for the hustle and bustle of different crops is created by consistently the same sand-colored floor covering, and differences in level are deliberately eliminated.
The result is a uniform urban landscape that takes up all different levels in order to form a barrier-free flexible urban space without creating traffic zones.
The urban furniture, simple concrete blocks of various sizes and heights, invite you to sit, park and lean on, the grasses growing out in between create cozy, more private places of residence throughout the street. In addition to catering furniture, this street furniture is used as places of non-consumption and deliberately mixed with them.
A trickle flows along the entire street, disappears, reappears and runs like a common thread through the entire street and flows into a watercourse at the square in front of the station area, which frames the existing trees.
This annular fountain, which runs flush with the ground and in line with the terrain and on the other hand at seat height, forms a shady play and recreation area in the middle.
An atmospherically rich place is to be created as a place of communication for arrivals and city dwellers, a fertile urban habitat characterized by diversity, a POLYTOPE.
